Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander Comes to Atkinson

ATKINSON, NH (August 26, 2025)
The Atkinson Democratic Town Committee hosted a private event for Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander at a local residence in Atkinson, New Hampshire, on August 25, 2025. The free event was open to anyone who registered through Congresswoman Goodlander’s ActBlue link. Over 60 participants from Atkinson and neighboring District 2 towns attended, hearing the Congresswoman speak and having their questions answered.

Attendees enjoyed a variety of refreshments and appetizers—including Cambodian eggrolls and beef sticks to reflect the diversity of Atkinson’s growing population. The audience included parents and their children, retirees, veterans, and guests from neighboring communities such as Salem, Pelham, Windham, and Hampstead.

Congresswoman Goodlander began her remarks by recounting conversations with residents throughout District 2 about navigating today’s challenging economy. She highlighted the impact of ‘Trumpflation,’ referring to inflation and rising costs tied to policies passed by the Trump administration and congressional Republicans—issues she warned were hurting working families, particularly in New Hampshire. Goodlander shared the story of an Atkinson mother and public school teacher who, despite her passion, struggles to earn a living wage in New Hampshire’s schools. The Congresswoman expressed empathy for constituents’ anxieties about the country’s future.

During the lively Q&A, Congresswoman Goodlander covered a range of topics—including the conflict in Gaza, the Big Beautiful Bill Act (HR1), the high cost of childcare in New Hampshire, and the fight against extremism. She emphasized her concerns about HR1, warning that it could hurt many families, and pledged to support those in need. Above all, Goodlander reassured attendees that she listens to all concerns and is committed to following up with constituents with her team. She reiterated her belief in the importance of direct engagement to better represent NH District 2 in Congress.

The Atkinson Democratic Town Committee was honored to host Congresswoman Goodlander’s visit and looks forward to welcoming her again.
